Automatic linear bottle filling machine designed for filling bottles and jars with food and non-food liquids.

DESCRIPTION

The LBF is an automatic linear bottle filling machine designed for filling liquid and viscous food and non-food products into PET, HDPE, PP and glass bottles. It is suitable for a wide range of applications, including milk, yoghurt, juice, ketchup, liquid detergents, shampoo and lotion. The machine can be configured with different filling systems based on product characteristics and filling requirements.

The machine can be equipped with 4–6 filling nozzles for filling volumes from 250 to 1,000 ml. Different product characteristics can be accommodated with optional equipment for products containing particles, hot-filled products and other specialised applications.

The LBF can operate as a standalone automatic bottle filling machine or form part of a complete packaging line with automatic bottle capping, labelling and secondary packaging equipment.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE

The LBF uses a linear filling system in which bottles move through the machine on a conveyor. An entry sensor counts the bottles as they enter the filling area, after which a grouping mechanism separates them into sets according to the number of filling nozzles and positions them for filling.

Once the bottles reach the filling position, the selected filling system dispenses the required product volume into each bottle. After filling, the bottles leave the filling area, where a second sensor counts the outgoing bottles. The control system continuously compares the incoming and outgoing bottle counts to verify the filling cycle and maintain correct bottle flow through the machine.

The grouping mechanism then prepares the next set of bottles for filling, allowing the machine to repeat the cycle automatically.

OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES

The LBF automatic bottle filling machine requires limited operator intervention during production. The operator is primarily responsible for monitoring the machine, maintaining the bottle supply and checking the filling process. Typical operator responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring machine status, operating parameters and alarms via the touchscreen HMI.
  • Maintaining a continuous supply of bottles to the infeed conveyor or, optionally, to the rotary infeed table for empty bottles.
  • Monitoring the product supply and balance tank level during production. The product feed pump operates automatically according to the balance tank level sensor.
  • Verifying fill accuracy and overall product quality through routine checks.
  • Removing incorrectly filled or rejected bottles, where applicable.
  • Performing routine cleaning, sanitisation and format changeovers in accordance with site SOPs and the production schedule.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

The LBF can fill a wide range of liquid and viscous products. The standard filling system uses volumetric piston filling, while an optional overflow system can suit free-flowing liquids where a consistent fill level is required. Different dosing system configurations can be selected according to product viscosity, foaming behaviour and filling requirements.

OPTIONAL MODULES

EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION
Product-Contact Parts in AISI 316L Filling system and all product-contact parts manufactured from AISI 316L stainless steel for improved hygiene and corrosion resistance.
Servo-Driven Volumetric Piston Filling System Provides precise control of piston movement and filling speed, allowing the filling profile to be adjusted to the product characteristics and filling requirements.
Overflow Filling System Provides level filling for suitable free-flowing liquids where consistent fill height is required.
Product Feed Pump Automatically transfers product to the balance tank. Pump type is selected according to the product characteristics and required flow rate, such as centrifugal or positive displacement pump.
Bottle Unscrambler Automatically orients and feeds empty bottles onto the infeed conveyor, reducing the need for manual bottle loading.
UV-C Bottle Treatment Reduces microbial contamination on the inner bottle surface before filling using UV-C irradiation.
Inkjet Date Coding Prints production dates, expiry dates, batch numbers and other variable information directly onto the finished bottle.
Extended Infeed and Outfeed Conveyor Provides additional conveyor length for bottle accumulation and integration with upstream or downstream packaging equipment.
Rotary Infeed / Outfeed Table Provides an alternative method for manual loading of empty bottles and collection of filled bottles.
Filling System for Products with Particles Modified filling system with enlarged product passages for products containing fruit pieces and other food particles.
Heated Balance Tank Maintains the required product temperature during filling of hot-filled or temperature-sensitive products.
Stand-Alone CIP Unit Provides automatic cleaning of the complete product path using pre-programmed Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) cycles.
